What you will do:

Preschool Staff Training, Onboarding, and Classroom Coaching

    • Organize and lead the onboarding of new preschool team members as directed by the Director of Preschool Services.
    • Train new team members during the onboarding period to attain the basic competency level defined by Pediatrics Plus.
    • Meet with new team members on day one for orientation, building layout review, introductions, and to establish job expectations as directed by the Director of Preschool Service.
    • Provide and model classroom management aligning with Pediatrics Plus's policies and procedures.
    • Model, coach, and train preschool team members in classroom activities and in Pediatrics Plus structures and routines.
    • Prepare and implement all materials needed for new preschool team members' skill acquisition of classroom performance.
    • Train preschool team members in Support Plans, classroom management techniques, teaching techniques, and use of modifications for effective classroom and behavioral management.
    • Work to effectively train preschool team members for success and independence in the classroom.
    • Model the implementation of individualized classroom treatment plans to maximize treatment benefits for children served.
    • Assist and coach new preschool team members on completing daily documentation, goal documentation, and/or report writing per their job requirements.
    • Ensure implementation, modification, and completion of daily curriculum by new preschool team members with excellence and to Pediatrics Plus standards.
    • Step into the role of classroom teacher when needed and completes all tasks for that role.
    • Participate in the completion of classroom billing via deTASO by signing as indicated.

Front Desk, Family, and Customer Support

    • Provide front desk coverage as needed.
    • Greet children and families as they arrive and directs them to appropriate areas as needed.
    • Check in children, family, and visitors via software and communicates with appropriate leadership regarding parent/visitor.
    • Receive phone calls for therapy and preschool operations. Answers questions/provides support as indicated or transfers call to appropriate department.
    • Understand internal processes required for a student and patient to receive services.
    • For preschool and therapy, assures payment is received per funding source, and processes all items appropriately.
    • Process paperwork between site and central administrative team as outlined in process manuals.
    • Manage outgoing and incoming mail, scanning and distributing appropriately.
    • Update scheduling software throughout the day and communicates cancellations to appropriate personnel.
    • Contact parents/guardians regarding preschool absentees, wait lists, and other pertinent information.
    • Make needed corrections and updates in software systems.
    • Prepare needed materials for onboarding of newly enrolled children.
    • Make badges for new employees and students.
    • Update mailbox labels, posted classroom rosters, and classroom schedule as
    • Order supplies for site and stocks supplies as they arrive: curriculum, workrooms, offices, and janitorial.
    • Provide assistance in kitchen for food prep, plating and delivery of food when needed.
    • Assist with special events as directed by leadership.
    • Assist with transportation documentation when needed
    • Collect, scan, and save all classroom rosters, diaper charts, and attendance Updates items as needed.
    • Assist with drop-off and pick-up of students daily as needed.
    • Complete building set up and daily grounds inspection, including playground environment, to ensure safety and welfare of all children is maintained.
    • Ensure all closing duties are complete at the end of each day.
    • Communicate with team members and outside providers with clarity and in a professional and timely manner.
    • Promote a friendly atmosphere for families, staff, and visitors.
    • Responsible for After Care Duties to include:
      • The after-care supervision duties and tasks begin daily at the conclusion of EIDT services approximately from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
      • Ensure all after-care computers are logged in and active prior to after-
      • Ensure completion of the beginning and ending headcount in all after-care
      • Oversee after-care employee staffing to ensure it is adequate and meets required ratios.

General

    • Communicates any needs or concerns with leader.
    • Participates in one-on-one meetings with leader.
    • Responds positively to feedback concerning job performance.

Education/ Certification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive teaching experience in early childhood education or a related discipline, preferred.
  • Experience teaching or training adults, preferred.
  • Prior front-desk, clerical, or administrative support experience, preferred.

 

Skills/ Abilities: 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be able to work with children birth to age 21 and families who are at risk.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
  • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

 

Essential Physical Requirement:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand through sight and hearing. The employee is regularly required to move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
