Pediatrics Plus to Host PACS1 Event to Families from Around the World
On March 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Pediatrics Plus in Frisco, TX will host families from Australia, the Netherlands, Mexico and across the US to hear a team of Clinical Psychologists from New York speak on a rare diagnosis known as PACS1. There are only 105 children in the world that have been diagnosed with PACS1.
Dr. Cora Taylor, a Clinical Psychologist from the Autism & Developmental Medicine Institute in New York, and Dr. Green Snyder, a psychologist at the Simons Foundation, working under Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative, will both be presenting.
Erin Brown, whose daughter, Finley, has PACS1 is putting the event together after attending a similar event in 2017 with other parents whose children have PACS1. Finley started attending Pediatrics Plus in 2018. “There are so few families in the world impacted by this diagnosis, we find it helpful to come together every other year to learn more about each other and hear from specialists in the field. When it was our turn to host, we knew we wanted to be at Pediatrics Plus. We have found such a home here for Finley and were thrilled when they allowed us to use the space,” Brown said.
Local Doctors will also be in attendance to hear the update. Dr. Daniel Gossett from Texas Child Neurology, Dr. Michelle Christie from Texas Scottish Rite, and Dr. Laura McClendon from Centennial Pediatrics.
The event will be held at Pediatrics Plus - Frisco at 6025 Sports Village Road. For more information, contact the clinic at (214) 687-9374 or email to [email protected].
