Denton appointed to Reach Out and Read Board of Directors

Reach Out and Read is a national, non-proftit organization that promotes early literacy by making books and reading aloud part of pediatric primary care. The mission of Reach Out and Read is to make literarcy promotion a standard part of pediatric primary care, so that children grow up with books and a love of reading. Reach Out and Read trains doctors and nurses to advise parents about the importance of reading aloud and to give books to children at pediatric check-ups from six months to five years of age, with a special focus on children growing up in poverty.

In May, Pediatrics Plus owner, Amy Denton, was named to the Board of Directors for the Arkansas chapter of Reach Out and Read. Amy is passionate about early literacy and the developmental benefits our state's children will receive from organizations like Reach Out and Read.
