Community Connections will kick off its fall extra-curricular programs for children with special needs and their families on Tuesday, September 22.
The programs, which are free of charge, will include theatre, music, art, flag football, cheerleading, martial arts, golf programs and an autism workshop.
“We believe ALL children deserve the opportunity to play sports and participate in the arts,” said Courtney Leach, director of Community Connections. “We adapt our programs for individual needs and utilize buddies to accommodate children so they can experience success and being part of a team.”
Community Connections is also excited to expand its flag football program to include both Little Rock and Conway. The full schedule is available at communityconnectionsar.org/FallPrograms. Families may register for any of the programs by visiting communityconnectionsar.org/services-programs.
When Community Connections launched its extracurricular activities in 2007, 30 children joined its ACTS Jr. theatre program in Conway. Today, it serves over 12 counties through nine different programs in Little Rock, Conway and Russellville. In 2014 alone, more than 500 children participated in Community Connection’s programs.
